What we do with what you send us.

Will to Smile is a small volunteer dental mission. This policy is short because our practices are simple: we collect only what you choose to send us, we use it only to reply to you, and we never sell or share it.

The short version. We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We do not run advertising. We do not use tracking cookies or analytics. We do not build profiles of visitors. If you want us to delete what you sent, email us and we will.

Who we are

Will to Smile is a nonprofit corporation registered in the State of Ohio (Entity No. 4232407, incorporated 2018), based in Columbus, Ohio. You can reach us any time at contact@willtosmile.org.

What we collect

Only what you type into a form or send us directly:

Get Involved form: your name, your email address, what you are interested in, and any message you write.
Newsletter signup: your email address.
Email: whatever you include when you write to us.

We do not ask for a date of birth, a phone number, a mailing address, or any health information. We do not have user accounts or logins. We do not process donations or payments on this website, so we never see card or bank details here.

Information collected automatically

Our website is hosted by Netlify, which keeps standard server logs (things like IP address, browser type, and which pages were requested) to run and protect the site. We do not use these logs to identify individual visitors.

We load our typefaces from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads. We use no analytics service, no advertising pixels, and no tracking cookies. This site does not store cookies on your device. If you choose to open one of our location maps, Google Maps loads inside the page and Google may set its own cookies for that map.

How we use your information

To reply to you.
To send you updates, only if you asked for them.
To coordinate volunteering, donations, or partnerships you have asked about.
To keep records the law requires a nonprofit to keep.

We do not use your information for any other purpose without asking you first.

Who can see it

Your message is read by Dr. Christopher Will and the small team that supports Will to Smile. Beyond that, it is handled only by the services that make the site and our email work:

Netlify hosts the website and receives form submissions.
Google (Gmail) holds the mailbox where messages arrive.
Porkbun forwards mail sent to our willtosmile.org addresses.

We share information outside of that only if the law requires it. We do not give your information to other charities, mailing list vendors, advertisers, or data brokers.

Keeping it and deleting it

We keep what you send for as long as we need it to stay in touch with you about the mission. You can ask us at any time to see what we have, correct it, or delete it, and to stop sending you updates. Email contact@willtosmile.org and we will take care of it. You do not need to give a reason.

Photographs

The photographs on this site were taken during our mission work. We publish them only with permission. If you are in a photograph on this site, or you are the parent or guardian of a child who is, and you would like it removed, email us and we will take it down.

Children

This website is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.

Links to other sites

Our sharing buttons open Facebook, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn. Those companies have their own privacy policies, and this one does not cover what they do.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection, and access to messages is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise, but we do not keep sensitive information here in the first place.

Changes to this policy

If our practices change, for example if we begin accepting donations directly on this website, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
